Another oldie (as far as me owning it, anyway). This is a split between two UK bands Brutality Will Prevail and Hang the Bastard. I realised a while back I knew virtually nothing about brittish hardcore and upon discovering labelmates More Than Life I decided to check these two bands out. I had had previous exposure to BWP in their LP Forgotten Soul. After listening to this release, it has made it 100% clear they like to play often down-tempo and constantly down-tuned heavy hardcore. Hang the Bastard, whom I had not even heard of, play less heavy, more conventional, though also a bit more melodic and progressive hardcore, with tinges of doom. What was really interesting about this release is that it is a two piece gatefold 7". Dark layout, lyrics in the gatefold and dual coloured wax with one being clear yellow with a black mist (I guess you'd call it) and the other a black and grey mix. /500. Cool.
