just another thing no one cares for.

These have been on regular rotation the past week. All of these bands are Australian and all these releases are, in my opinion, world-class. The future of Australian hardcore looks bright.

Ghost Town - Calamities

This is the first full-length for the Gold Coast based band Ghost Town, following an EP, The Way the World Ends. They play metallic hardcore, likened to larger bands Trap Them and Rise and Fall. The album is heavy- it gives you a "the world is coming to an end" kind of vibe. I just ordered a print to put up on my new bedroom's wall.

Persist - The Untold Story

I had seen the band a few times before and liked what I'd heard, but never thought it to be anywhere near as good as their debut release. Being quite a big fan of Have Heart and other music in that vein, I am in love with this release. It's great to see a local band put something as cool as this release out. I'm seeing them next week and am really looking forward to it. Expect big things in the future.

No Love Lost - Embraced By Hate

It seems I slept on this release a little bit. For one reason or another, this was released by the band on the internet and I'm unable to find anywhere to purchase a physical copy. I suppose you can't complain about free music? Anyway, I quite enjoyed this bands debut, Unleash the Shackled, and believe this is quite a step-up from that. This album is much heavier, and more instrument driven than their previous effort and sounds better the louder it is. Their unique brand of vocals are undisguisable and suprisingly fit perfectly with the music. It would be great to hear something about some tour dates- it's been a couple of years since I've heard anything about these.
